Remote Keyless Entry Systems
DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
WARNING:Vehicles are equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. Before attempting any repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.

Remote keyless entry system is used to lock and unlock vehicle doors and release rear doors or liftgate. Transmitter must be within 33 feet (10 meters) of vehicle for receiver to detect coded signal. When LOCK button is depressed once transmitter, and Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) receives a signal with a valid vehicle access code, lock function sequence is performed. If LOCK button is pressed again within 5 seconds, horn will chirp. When UNLOCK button is pressed once on transmitter, signal is received by RCDLR and unlocks driver's door only, flashes park lights and turns on interior lights. When UNLOCK button is pressed a second time, within 1-5 seconds of first, remaining doors will unlock.
To lock doors, press LOCK button to lock all doors at once. When button marked REAR 2X is pressed twice within 5 seconds, rear hatch or cargo doors unlock, park lights flash and interior lights come on. When button with a horn symbol (if equipped) is pressed, horn sounds and head lights and park lights flash for up to 30 seconds. This can be turned off by pressing button with horn symbol again or starting engine.

TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING
NOTE:To reprogram transmitters with scan tool, refer to scan tool instructions.

1. Close driver door. 关闭所有的车门
Hold down UNLOCK button on door switch. 左手按下中控开关开锁并保持
Turn ignition switch to ON position, 右手转动点火开关到"ON"位置
then to OFF position twice. 再转动点火开关到"Off"位置 2次
Release UNLOCK button. 放开按在中控开关.门锁开位置上的左手
Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) should lock, 遥控门锁接收装置立马作锁门动作
then unlock doors to indicate it is in programming mode. 然后开锁系统进入遥控匹配程序
2 NOTE: All transmitters must be programmed at this time.
When first transmitter is programmed,
all previous transmitters are erased.

Hold down LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on transmitter until RCDLR locks and unlocks doors.
Repeat step 2 for each transmitter.
Turn ignition switch to ON position to exit programming mode.

TRANSMITTER SYNCHRONIZATION 遥控器同步方法
Resynchronization may be necessary due to security methods used by Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system. Transmitters do not send same signal twice. Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) module will not respond to a signal it has been sent previously preventing recording and playback of transmitter signal. Resynchronization will be necessary if any of following occur:
Transmitter battery is very weak.
Transmitter battery is changed.
Vehicle battery is very weak.
Vehicle battery is replaced.
Vehicle battery is disconnected.
To resynchronize transmitter to RCDLR, stand within 5 feet of vehicle and simultaneously depress and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on transmitter for 7 seconds. Door locks should cycle to confirm resynchronization.
Check transmitter synchronization by pressing and holding LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 7 seconds. Try second transmitter. If second transmitter operates system, replace battery in first transmitter. Ensure transmitter battery terminals are clean and making good contact. Ensure power door lock system is operational. See appropriate POWER DOOR LOCKS article.

CAUTION:Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Proper grounding of technician and workplace is essential to prevent damage.

CAUTION:If vehicle is equipped with radio anti-theft feature (THEFTLOCK(R)), obtain secret code from customer. Disable THEFTLOCK(R) prior to disconnecting power to vehicle or removing RADIO fuse.
